The 2019 Super rugby tournament kicks off this weekend on Friday 15 February and as it is a Rugby world cup year the tournament will run uninterrupted so there will be no break.

There are 18 regular rounds of Super rugby and the Super rugby qualifiers (or quarter-finals) begin on the weekend starting 22 June.

The Saturday 6 July will take play on July 6.

As Super rugby kicks off this weekend we thought you might want to look at the squads for the 2019 Super rugby season.

There are 15 teams again and they are split into three geographic conferences.

Australian Super Rugby Conference:

Brumbies, Rebels, Reds, Waratahs, Sunwolves

New Zealand Super Rugby Conference:

Blues, Chiefs, Crusaders, Highlanders, Hurricanes

South African Super Rugby Conference:

Bulls, Lions, Sharks, Stormers, Jaguares

Each of the 15 Super Rugby teams will play 16 matches in their regular season. These 16 matches will include eight matches against teams in their own conference (home and away) and four matches against teams from each of the other Conferences (home or away).
