The Sharks have been given a little relief from their mounting injury list with the news that Willem Alberts will join the squad this week and other star players are close to returning.
Willem Alberts will be join the squad in Australia tomorrow and Bismarck du Plessis together with Butch James will be available for selection in just over a week.
Springboks Du Plessis and James have yet to play Super Rugby this season due to their long term injuries.
The Sharks have historically enjoyed good tours but have suffered several injuries to key players that has depleted the depth in the squad.
The Durban Franchise have lost their last four Super Rugby matches but have taken confidence from the last two matches - against the Chiefs and Highlanders - as they were in both contests until the final whistle.
"It was evident that the team were playing and working hard for each other on the field, unfortunately the end result did not go our way," said Sharks coach, John Plumtree.
"Despite the circumstances we find ourselves facing with the number of injuries that we have incurred, we remain positive that we can do well in Australia."
John Plumtree concluded by saying, "We just need to carry on with what we've got. We haven't given up and that's an important message from the team. "
"We want to show we are committed, that we hold hope and hopefully our actions on the field will show that."
The Sharks have also given an injury update with estimated time frames for player returns.
