The Chiefs have named a team with several changes to the one that lost to the Crusaders for their final regular regular season clash with the Blues in Auckland.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie has given starts to Liam Messam who has recovered from a back injury and to Prop Toby Smith.

Robbie Robinson and Lelia Masaga start on the wings and Tim Nanai-Williams and Andrew Horrell will take the field at centre and fullback respectively.

Pauliasi Manu, Sam Cane, Gareth Anscombe and Asaeli Tikoirotuma all become new additions to the bench.

Dave Rennie knows this is an important game for his team, as one point will secure the New Zealand Super Rugby Conference for the Chiefs.

"We are obviously pretty disappointed with our performance last week but we are excited about the opportunity to redeem ourselves, " said Rennie.

"We know these are traditionally big clashes and know the Blues will want to put in a big performance in their final game of the season."

The Chiefs will be wearing a new-look strip as BNZ gifts their front of jersey place to their charity partner, Plunket, an iconic New Zealand organisation that has been helping New Zealand families for over 100 years.
