The Chiefs and the Brumbies missed out on playing each other during the 2013 Super Rugby season so the last time they played was way back in March 2012.
The last match between the Chiefs and the Brumbies was played in Tauranga west of Hamilton and the Chiefs won 29-22.
The match was a tight affair with three tries scored in the final quarter but Jackson Willison scored the last try at the death which gave the Chiefs the victory.

In that match the Chiefs needed a late try to snatch the victory and the Brumbies pushed them all the way.
Last year the Chiefs beat a travel weary Sharks team and they have been fortunate enough to get another team in the final that has had to travel almost half way around the world to get to them.
The Brumbies were at home in Canberra two weeks ago and had to travel to South Africa where they beat the Bulls last weekend.
That Semi-final victory meant that they have had to travel back from South Africa to Canberra via Sydney for a short stay before traveling to Hamilton New Zealand.
The travel that the Brumbies have had to do is doesn't really compare to the Sharks travel last year as the Brumbies had a home play off where last year the Sharks traveled from SA to Brisbane and then back to Cape Town and then on to Hamilton.
The Brumbies had one less trip and managed to get a few days in at home in between so they should be less fatigued than the Sharks.
The Chiefs have named an unchanged team for the Super Rugby final but Lelia Masaga could be ruled out if he fails a late fitness test.
Like the Brumbies the Chiefs went into last week's Semi-final as the underdogs and still managed to win. The Crusaders form going into that match makes the Chiefs victory last week as impressive as the Brumbies victory over the Bulls in Pretoria and both teams are deserving finalists.
The Brumbies have yet to name their team to play this weekend's final but if Jake White's career is anything to go by he is unlikely to make any changes and no surprises are expected.
Both the Chiefs and the Brumbies took a big step up last week but over the season the Chiefs have been a touch more consistent with their form. The Chiefs have the experience of winning the title and several players will be playing in their final match for the franchise before moving on so their will be plenty of emotion.
At home this year the Chiefs have won all but one of their nine Super Rugby matches at home while the Brumbies have won five out of their nine away matches.
The Bookies have given the Brumbies a 9 point start for this Match - with an offer of a FREE $150 BET. Home advantage for the Chiefs should help them to edge the Brumbies in this. The Chiefs should win by 5.
