Australia's Wallabies will be hoping for a vastly improved performance this weekend in the Rugby Championship after New Zealand's All Blacks beat them 29-47 in Sydney last weekend.

Match detail

We are waiting for the kick off. The anthems are being sung.

.01: Tom Taylor kicks off and we are underway.

.00: The All Blacks immediately stamp their authority on the game as they win the ball back and Taylor has a little break but the Wallabies hang on and Hooper turns the ball over and the Wallabies kick the ball into touch.

.00: The first line out is overthrown by the All Blacks so the Wallabies get the ball and make some ground with the boot.

.00: The Wallabies first line out is also overthrown so the All Blacks kick downfield and make some ground. After some play the Wallabies kick deep but Dagg returns the ball by booting in into touch.

.00: The Wallabies start to make some ground into All Black territory. They get the ball into the AB's 22 with some strong running. The All Blacks defend well but are being pressed back.

.00: Penalty to the Wallabies. Off-side at the ruck (McCaw not rolling away). They got to the line there but were called back for the penalty. Lealiifano will kick for posts. It's raining.

.00: Christian Lealiifano takes the kick and slots it. The Wallabies lead.

.00: Suddenly the All Blacks break out as Taylor passes to Ben Smith who passes to Julian Savea who goes for the corner but it just pushed into touch.

.00: The Wallabies defend after the line out and then they kick upfield and fail to find touch. The All Blacks attack and Hooper just gets a finger to the ball and saves a try. The Wallabies are hanging on and then they concede a penalty.

.00: Tom Taylor - All Black No.1125 takes a penalty kick but misses.

.00: Will Genia kicks for touch from his 22 and the ball just bounces a metre inside the All Blacks 22. Brilliant kick.

.00: The Wallabies win the line out (All Black throw) and they attack in the All Blacks 22. However the Wallabies knock on so the All Blacks have the first scrum of the match.

.00: The All Blacks win a penalty from the scrum so they kick for touch.

.00: After the line out the Wallabies win the put in for a scrum as the All Blacks knock on.

.00: Misses tackles so far Australia 3 New Zealand 2. The Wallabies are on the attack and James Slipper is shoulder charged by Ma'a Nonu so they have a penalty. Slipper needs some attention while Lealiifano takes the penalty kick.

.00: Lealiifano takes the kick and misses this one in the rain.

.00: The Wallabies are on the attack and Christian Lealiifano gets the all and SLICES through the All Blacks. Aaron Smith just manages to stop him and the try but it's a professional foul as he fails to release so the Wallabies have a penalty. No card though.

.00: Lealiifano takes the kick and this one he nails. The All Blacks have hardly had the ball. That is the 2000th point scored by Australia against New Zealand.

.00: The All Blacks instantly hit back Read wins a ball back from a kick, they pass down the line and Ben Smith races down the touchline and scores the first TRY!!

.00: Tom Taylor adds the conversion and the All Blacks lead with almost no possession.

.00: Penalty to the All Blacks as the Wallabies are holding back a defender. Taylor kicks for touch. Silly penalty.

.00: The All Blacks win the line out but the Wallabies defend well and get the ball from a kick. They kick it back. There are some confusing decisions from the match officials creeping in.

.00: The All Blacks win another penalty so they kick for touch. They win the line out (somehow as they initially lost the ball) and start the attack which gets them into the Wallabies 22. All Black line out has been very poor.

.00: The All Blacks try to bash their way through the Wallaby defence and then after several phases they win a penalty for not releasing. Slipper goes down from another Nonu collision. Slipper is coming off - possibly concussion test. Scott Sio comes on.

.00: Taylor takes the penalty kick and slots it.

.00: Penalty to the All Blacks on the half way line. It's not clear what for though. Some of Peyper's decisions have been confusing. Anyway Taylor has a shot from 54m out but he misses. Wide.

.00: Mowen loses the ball in a high kick and it goes to McCaw. The All Blacks look to attack from the half way line. Out of nowhere Steven Luatua slips through and is just stopped but the All Blacks spin the ball wide to guess who ...... Ben Smith who scores a TRY in the corner. That's five tries in two tests.

.00: Taylor takes the conversion which bounces off both uprights and then bounces out.

It's half time.

The half time score was New Zealand 15 Australia 6

Matt Toomua kicks off and the second half is underway.

.00: Penalty to the All Blacks as Hooper is caught offside. The All Blacks kick for touch. Penalty count is 9-3 against the Wallabies.

.00: Toomua and Michael Hooper trip over each other in defence and the ball is knocked on. They both get up.

.00: The All Blacks win the scrum but fail to release so the Wallabies win a penalty.

.00: The Wallabies break out as James O'Connor makes a break but he holds on to the ball too long and fails to pass to the support and is caught. However he wins a penalty so the Wallabies kick for touch.

.00: The Wallabies win the line out and attack 1m out. They send several waves of attack at the line but the All Blacks hold them out and win a penalty. Penalties conceded is now All Blacks 5 Wallabies 10. Taylor kicks for touch. Referee Jaco Peyper is being slammed on Twitter by the Australian and South African fans.

.00: The All Blacks form a maul and it makes ground but then they concede a scrum put in as it collapses.

.00: Penalty to the All Blacks. Taylor takes the shot and slots it. First points of the second half.

.00: The Wallabies look to fire back as they get the ball into the All Blacks 22, they go wide to the wing but the ball is high and rolls out. They are however called back for a penalty.

.00: Lealiifano slots the penalty. Matt Toomua comes off and on comes Quade Cooper. The All Blacks are almost in with a Genia charge down but they recover. 10m scrum for the All Blacks though.

.00: Wallabies turn the ball over and try to attack but Kuridrani gets through and loses the ball.

.00: Another penalty to the All Blacks. Penalty count is now 14 to 7. Taylor will kick for posts.

.00: Taylor nails the penalty.

.00: The All Blacks are on attack and throwing the ball around but Israel Folau gets an intercept and races for the line. He just beats Ben Smith but still scores. TRY!

.00: Lealiifano slots the conversion and the Wallabies have a chance now.

.00: The Wallabies concede yet another penalty in their 22 as the All Blacks attack. Taylor takes the kick from right in front. He nails it.

.00: Wow, the Wallabies pass the ball down the line and Savea tackles Kuridrani and rips the ball off him in the tackle - more dynamic than an intercept. The All Blacks however concede a penalty.

.00: Tom Taylor comes off to a loud roar.

.00: Penalty to the All Blacks. Colin Slade kicks for touch.

.18: The siren sounds and the All Blacks kick the ball out. That's it.
