Golden Lions head coach Johan Ackermann has announced his Currie Cup team with five changes for the match against Griquas at Ellis Park on Saturday.

In the forwards, Jacques van Rooyen moves in to the starting side at loosehead.

Willie Wepener is also promoted from the bench at hooker and Julian Redelinghuys will start at tighthead.

Franco van der Merwe returns at lock after his stint with the Springboks, while Warwick Tecklenburg will start at six.

The backline changes see Andries Coetzee shift to inside centre and Chrysander Botha switch to fullback.

Deon Helberg will start on the wing as he is promoted to the starting line-up.
