The Hurricanes have named their squad to travel to South Africa where they will play the Sharks and the Stormers in the opening rounds of the 2014 Super Rugby season.
Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett has been hit by injury in recent weeks but he has named a strong squad to take on the physical South Africans.
With a 16 to 11 forward-back split, Hammett has given wider training group member Adam Hill the nod in the loose forward department, while newcomer Brendon Edmonds will also travel, along with fellow prop Chris Eves.
Captain Conrad Smith will lead an experienced backline that also includes Cardiff Vaega and Marty Banks, who will get their first taste of Super Rugby in South Africa.
