In terms of selections the Stormers have named Jean de Villiers to win his 100th Super Rugby cap so the Sharks will have an added incentive to play well for their captain.
There are also three injury enforced changes to the starting line up that lost by a point to the Crusaders last weekend. Ruan Botha starts at lock (in place of the injured Michael Rhodes) earning his first Super Rugby cap in the process, whilst Tiaan Liebenberg (hooker) and Brok Harris (tighthead prop) come into the front row as replacements for Scarra Ntubeni (injured) and Frans Malherbe who drops down to bench.
Meanwhile in the Chiefs team Tanerau Latimer will also become a Super Rugby centurion this weekend so the Chiefs will also have something to play for.
The Chiefs had the bye last week and a number of players have recovered from injuries which has allowed the Hamilton team to name a team that is more first string.
There has been little concern this season about the Chiefs form although they admit that they need to be performing better. In contrast there has been much talk about the Stormers form. Last week they showed their best form yet this season and they have a habit of playing better when they are on tour.
Despite the anticipated lift from the Stormers the Chiefs are the champions and have won their last seven matches at home against South African teams. Overall the Chiefs win 62% of their matches at home and only lost one match at home last year.
The Bookies have given the Stormers a 9 point start for this Match - with an offer of a FREE $150 BET. Home advantage should see the Chiefs through this. The Chiefs should win by 5.
