Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder says that he is really proud of his team after they got back to winning ways by beating the Lions 7-28 in Johannesburg.
The Crusaders kicked off their Super Rugby tour of South Africa with a three-tries-to-one victory over the Lions at Ellis Park.
The Crusaders became the first team to cross the Indian ocean and win a match on tour this season.
"I am really proud of them tonight, you know coming here off the back of a loss and we probably lacked a bit of confidence," Blackadder said.
"We knew we were up against a really good Lions team and we had to play well."
"I am just so pleased the guys went out there and played with a lot of heart and worked their way in and keep the pressure on."
"So I am absolutely delighted with the outcome."
The Crusaders move to Johannesburg to Bloemfontein in Round 9 where they will face the Cheetahs who will be hurting from letting a 36-10 lead slip to a 43-all draw to the Chiefs.
