Scrumhalf Nic White accepts that he will go under the microscope when he goes up against his national rival Will Genia this weekend but says that he is focusing on levelling the scores.

The Reds opened their Super Rugby season in Canberra with a 17-27 victory and this weekend the Brumbies have the opportunity to upset the Reds at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

White has the opportunity to impress Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie when the Brumbies go up against a Reds team that will be stinging from their loss to the Force last week.

"When coaches come and say they're going to put pressure on you, you take that as a compliment," White told Sydney Morning Herald.

"We were pretty disappointed after that round-one loss, a lot of the focus in the pre-season was on that.

"Every (game) you go out to win, but this one has a little bit more feeling about it."

Will Genia currently hold the Wallabies Australian No.9 jersey but if White outshines his rival he could move up the pecking order.

White has played down the individual battle with Genia and says that he is focusing on ensuring that the Brumbies backline gets smooth ball.

"Will, Luke Burgess, Nic Phipps ... you just don't see your opposite position, especially at nine," White said.

"You see them at scrums and say hello, but other than that, I'm behind the defensive line and he's in there passing.

"(I) go out to play the best I can play for the team and he'll be doing the same for the Reds."

Meanwhile, Brumbies hooker Stephen Moore missed last week's Super Rugby match against the Blues but is expected to return from his knee injury in time for this weekend.
