The Blues will be given a boost ahead of their 10th round Super Rugby clash against the Hurricanes as Keven Mealamu, Patrick Tuipulotu, Peter Saili, Kane Barrett, Tom Donnelly, Jamison Gibson-Park and Jackson Willison will all return to full training this week.

The Blues have announced that provided the seven players come through unscathed they will be available for selection against the Hurricanes.

Piri Weepu has also resumed training with the Blues after making a full recovery from his minor stroke and minor heart surgery.

In consultation with his neurologist and cardiologist, the 30-year-old halfback has been cleared to rejoin the Blues and is expected to be available for selection when the Blues face the Waratahs at Eden Park on April 25.

Weepu suffered a minor stroke last month, the cause of which was related to a congenital cardiac disease where he had a small hole in his heart.

Weepu had surgery to close the hole just over a week ago and has since made a full recovery with no residual deficits from the earlier stroke.
