Chiefs fullback Mils Muliaina has been ruled out for the rest of the Super Rugby season as he needs surgery to repair an arm injury.
The Chiefs have announced that the former All Black fullback Muliaina requires elbow surgery which is scheduled to happen later next week.
The Chiefs said that the surgery means that he will not play any further part in the Chiefs Super Rugby campaign in 2014.
The thirty-three-year-old initially suffered the injury in the second round Super Rugby clash against the Crusaders and has struggled with the injury since.
Muliaina returned to the Chiefs squad this year after two seasons playing in Japan on a one year contract.
Since suffering the injury the fullback - who has also played on the wing - has had limited game time for the two time champions.
