Out of the last five Super Rugby matches between the Waratahs and the Johannesburg based Lions the New South Wales side have won all five.

Overall the Waratahs have played the Lions 14 times in Super Rugby and the Waratahs have won 13 times.

This gives the Waratahs a record of winning 93% of their matches against the Lions.

The average score when the Waratahs play the Lions across all venues is : Waratahs 40 Lions 16.

This weekend the match will be played in Sydney where the teams have played each other 8 times.

In those eight matches the Waratahs have won all eight matches as the Lions have never won in Sydney.

The average score when the Waratahs play the Lions in Sydney is : Waratahs 43 Lions 11

In 2014 the Waratahs have played five matches at home and they have won all five. The Lions in contrast have played 6 matches away from home and they have won 1.

The Lions only away victory was in South Africa (Bloemfontein) so they have yet to win a match outside of South Africa.

The Lions have played 11 matches in 2014 and they have won 4 and lost 7. They made a good start to the season but have now lost their last five matches.

Last week they were unlucky not to win against the Highlanders - it came down to a missed conversion kick. They score four tries in the second half and ended up losing by a point and earned their first two bonus points this year.

The Waratahs have picked up a very worrying habit for Sydney fans. Since round three the Waratahs have alternated wins and losses week by week. They have not won back to back matches since the second round. They won last week so a win this week will end that habit.

The Lions have dropped down to 11th place in the standings with 15 points and the Waratahs are in 8th place with 29 points. The Lions are almost certainly out of the play off race but the Waratahs are still very much in it. Their bye last week saw them drop out of the top six for the first time this season.

In terms of selection the Waratahs have made one change to the team that beat the Hurricanes with a bonus point. Will Skelton starts and he will beef up the Waratahs pack to match the South African pack.

At the time of writing the Lions had not yet released their team sheet as the match will be played on Sunday which puts their team naming back by 24 hours.

The Bookies have given the Lions an 18 point start for this Match - with an offer of a FREE $250.00 Bet. Last week the Lions have the Highlanders a shock. That result will not have gone unnoticed in Sydney and the Waratahs will be up for this match after that performance. The Waratahs should win by 14.

This Match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 2
