Stormers utility forward Deon Fourie has agreed to leave Cape Town and join newly promoted French Top14 Rugby club Lyon on a two year contract.
Fourie can play Hooker and Flank and will join the Top14 Rugby club after the end of the Super Rugby season.
Twenty-six year-old Fourie has played for the Stormers and Western Province and captained Western Province to a Currie Cup a title in 2012.
President of Lou Rugby (Lyon) Yann Roubert said that he was pleased to have signed Fourie.
"We are very pleased to welcome Deon. He proved his talent by playing both hooker and flanker and in his leadership as captain of the Stormers and Western Province. There is great pride that he chose Lou. "
Fourie said on the Lyon site, "I am excited to join the Lyon Rugby who have big ambitions in Top 14 next season. I'm sure this is only the beginning of a long and successful collaboration. "
The club also have the likes of Jerome Porical, George Smith and Stephen Brett on their books.
