Reds 2011 season memberships now on sale

A family of four will be able to enjoy all the live action and excitement of a Queensland Reds game for less than the cost of a night out at the movies, under new season membership pricing for 2011.

A family package for two adults and two children under 16 starts at $350 for the 2011 season, or less than $11 per head for each of the Reds’ eight home games, including free public transport to and from Suncorp Stadium.

The 2011 season memberships, which also include other extras such as a commemorative “First XV” key ring for members and priority purchase benefits for Bledisloe Cup tickets, went on preferential offer to existing Reds members yesterday and for new fans from the 17th of this month. The occasion will be marked by a special Pre-Season Launch at Ballymore with the Reds.

Season membership prices are lower than in 2010 across the board, despite an extra home game due to the expanded Super Rugby format.

Reds captain James Horwill, who takes part in executive management meetings at Queensland Rugby, said the players enjoyed the big crowds that came along to support the Reds in 2010 and they were delighted the organisation had opted to make season packages even more attractive in 2011.

“A lot of people expected to see higher ticket prices next year on the back of our successful 2010 season, but we’ve actually gone the other way to thank our loyal fans and attract new ones,” Horwill said.

“There’s nothing like a packed Suncorp Stadium to give the boys a lift in the tight spots and we want our Queensland fans to come to every game.

“Under the new competition format we play other Aussie teams like the Waratahs at home every year, rather than every second year, so there’s plenty of incentive for red blooded Queenslanders to get behind us.”

The Reds need 15,000 members to make up their Queensland “First XV” and are recruiting their red army state-wide, thanks to “Forever Red” supporter packages that offer a discounted ticket purchase option for people from regional areas who may only be able to attend one or a handful of games. This membership also includes a cap and tee for those in regional areas to wear with pride to show their colours wherever their home may be.

Top of the range Ruby season memberships are $750 and include a guaranteed platinum seat near halfway for the Wallabies Bledisloe Cup Test Match on August 27, 2011. Ruby members are also guaranteed the same seat for all eight Reds Super Rugby games in 2011.

Platinum season memberships are $420. Gold season memberships are $280 for adults and $175 for concessions (Under 16, or those holding a student or pension card).

For those with kids there is great value in Family and Kids special packages which allows kids to go to the game for FREE. Gold Family Special (2+2) are $560, down from $600 in 2010 and the Kids Special (1+1) is a new introduction at $280.

Adult Silver memberships are $175, Concessions $140, Family Special $350 and Kids Special $175.

Forever Red non ticketed memberships are just $50 and include all the same ancillary benefits as ticketed memberships.

Ticket prices for individual matches will be announced next year.
