It appears the Australians are not wasting any time in revelling in All Black lock Ali Williams’ distress, with a Qantas error ensuring he had a rough ride on his arrival in Auckland on Tuesday.

Williams, sent home by the Blues’ management from South Africa on Monday for disciplinary reasons, was left hanging around Auckland airport waiting for his baggage to turn up from his Qantas flight.

A clutch of reporters were thus able to accost Williams unhindered as he emerged from Customs – a Customs official also kindly told the reporters when Williams would be coming out.

Unfortunately for those hoping for fireworks Williams, flanked by two Blues officials, was in sedentary mood, saying only “It’s been a very long flight and I just want to get home and see my family, see you later.”

The precise reasons for Williams’ dismissal have not yet been revealed although Williams has said he will say more over the next couple of days.
