The Hurricanes vs the Blues were first up today and at half time the score was all even at 10 all. Cory Jane scored the only try in the first half for the Hurricanes while Doug Howlet has scored the only try for the Blues in the same half.

Tana Umaga could have scored the first try for the Hurricanes but he took Kaino out without the ball and a penalty was awarded instead.

The stats at half time reflected the scoreline as the match was fairly even at the half time point.

In the second half both teams came out with the intent on winning this one but it was the Hurricanes who had a little more fire for most of the second half even though the Blues outscored the Hurricanes in tries.

The difference came from Gopperth’s boot as he kicked over two penalties worth six points to the Blues extra try worth 5 points.

It was the Blues’ first defeat of the season, but they remain in second place on the standings … although that could change later in the day.
