Brumbies Head Coach Laurie Fisher named his giant back-rower Jone Tawake at number 8 to face the Bulls in Fridays match


“He’s had a tremendous pre-season and has worked extremely hard on his physical condition and it is showing with the number of involvements and the quality of involvements he is making on the field and on the training paddock,” said Fisher.


“His power running game will provide us with some go-forward early in the match and then we have Julian Salvi coming off the bench with his tremendous work rate,” he said.


George Smith will revert to openside flank The change is one of only two changes in the team that beat the Force, with the other being a forced change due to injury. David Palavi will now start in place of Jeremy Paul.


Stephen Larkham will celebrate a special milestone in his career when he runs out for his 100th match in Super 14 this Friday night.


Larkham will be only the second player to have earned 100 caps for the Brumbies. The other player is former captain George Gregan who will make his 113th appearance this weekend.
