Crusaders beat Bulls in Pretoria

Pretoria’s Bulls will be aiming for a third consecutive win this weekend when they host Super Rugby’s leaders the Crusaders.

The Christchurch side are the tournament’s form team currently as they lead the standings and are the only unbeaten team.

The Crusaders kick off and the match is underway.

The Bulls get the first penalty after 20 seconds for offside. The Bulls kick for touch.

2.00: The Bulls make a powerful start and get the Crusaders on the back-foot. The Bulls press the Crusaders into their 22 but then get pressed back out where Jessie Kriel kicks the ball out on the full.

3.00: After the line out the maul collapses/is pulled down by Nick de Jager so the Crusaders have a penalty. They take the line out.

4.00: The Crusaders win the line out and Pete Samu powers his way through the tackles and is not held so he continues the charge and scores. TRY!

5.00: Richie Mo’unga takes the conversion kick and nails it.

8.00: Penalty to the Bulls for not releasing. The Bulls take the line out option and kick for touch instead of going for posts.

23.00: The Crusaders sustain the Bulls pressure, turn it over and work the ball into the Bulls half.

24.00: The Crusaders have the advantage but play on and get to the 5m line. After 7 phases they get to 3m out. The penalty comes for offside. The Crusaders tap and go for the line.

33.00: The Crusaders go on the attack again after Tim Bateman wins a turnover. Jordan Taufua makes plenty of ground but is just shoved into touch.

39.00: The Crusaders win the line out and drive the maul to the line. It is stopped short though but the Crusaders keep the ball alive as they go through the phases.

The Crusaders get the perfect start. Schoeman kicks the ball upfield. It goes straight to the Crusaders and David Havili runs it straight back through the Bulls and scores. TRY! Huge pace and goes in untouched.

43.00: Mo’unga adds the conversion. Whilst that was happening Travis Ismael is driven off in the medical buggy after injuring his leg.

46.00: The Bulls attack down the wing, Jan Serfontein makes ground and offloads, Piet van Zyl though stumbles and takes the ball into touch.
