Chiefs co-captain Sam Cane says he was really pleased with the way his team handled the travel and still delivered a strong performance against the Force.

The Chiefs were expected to tired from circumnavigating the globe with games in South Africa and Argentina in the past fortnight but they beat the Force 53-10 and showed no signs of fatigue.

Instead of the Chiefs running out of steam it was the Australians who ran out of steam as the Hamilton side scored 41 unanswered points.

Damien McKenzie scored two tries while Charlie Ngatai scored four tries in the nine tries to one victory.

“There was a lot of talk about the travel… but it was great to be able to put on a performance that we’re proud of,” said Chiefs captain Sam Cane said.

“In the first half we played a good brand of footy but we weren’t accurate enough.”

“In the second half some of those passes started to stick and we were a little bit more clinical at the breakdown.”

The Chiefs face another tough task next week as they are in Canberra to face the Brumbies on Saturday.
