The Vodacom Bulls’ assistant coach, Mike Bayly, will take the responsibility of the day-to-day coaching in the coming ABSA Currie Cup. The head coach, Heyneke Meyer, will still be involved in an advisory capacity. Meyer will not vacate his post, but will retain an overhead responsibility for coaching at all levels within the Blue Bulls setup.

Bayly’s responsibility with regards to the coaching of the team will be broadened to allow Meyer to re-evaluate the coaching and development structure within the province and to prepare for the coming Super 14.

The CEO of the BBC, Stephan Pretorius, said that Meyer has not yet been allowed a decent rest since the 1999 World Cup and that the Company would like to lighten his work load in the coming Currie Cup in recognition of his unselfish contribution to the success of the Bulls and Blue Bulls in the past five years.
