Stormers centre Daniel du Plessis has been ruled out of the final round match of the regular Super Rugby season against the Southern Kings at Newlands.

Du Plessis suffered concussion in the Stormers 3-22 bonus point victory over the Western Force on Saturday and has been ruled out for this weekend’s match.

On the positive side Du Plessis was the only casualty from the win over the Force.

Props Frans Malherbe (neck injury), JC Janse van Rensburg (knee injury) and Oli Kebble (knee injury) will all return to training this week, with a call on their availability to face the Southern Kings to be made later in the week.

Loose forward Nizaam Carr will also be assessed during the week, after having injured his shoulder in the win against the Rebels in Melbourne.
