Blues duo Troy Flavell and Nick Evans are both playing down speculation linking them with moves to Irish team Ulster for next season.

Flavell has recently come back from a stint in Japan while Evans (pictured) moved from the Highlanders for this season’s Super14.

The press in Ireland have been reporting that Ulster has a “wad” of cash that they want to use recruiting the likes of Flavell and Evans.

Flavell, however insists that he has yet to be approached by anyone connected to Ulster.

“I haven’t heard from Ulster yet but it will be interesting to see if I do,”he is quoted as saying by the Sunday News.

Evans also denied rumours of an offer and claimed that he has yet to decide where his future lies.

“It’s the same with all these speculation things,” Evans told the Sunday News newspaper.

“Everyone knows I’m coming off contract at the end of the year and obviously there’s going to be a lot of to-ing and fro-ing and people thinking they’re going to sign.

“I haven’t made a decision yet for myself. I’m just concentrating on the Blues.

“My contract doesn’t run out until the end of the year and I’m a long way away from that.

“It’s something in the back of my mind and we’ll see how things go when the time comes.”
