The second Australian Super Rugby derby of the opening round is between the Western Force and the Melbourne Rebels.

In 2015 the Force finished the season in last place while the Rebels finished the season in 10th place.

Neither team have reached the play offs but last season the Rebels came close and are hoping to go one better in 2016. For the Force 2015 was a disaster as they won three matches and lost 13.

In 2014 however the Force won nine and lost seven and most of that team is still in Perth so if they can get off to a good start they who knows what they can achieve.

2015 was the Rebels best ever Super Rugby season and they have retained the core of their team.

Surprisingly when these teams meet in Perth the Rebels have won four and lost just once so Perth is a happy hunting ground for the Rebels. Against all teams the Force have won just 365 of their matches at home.

The Bookies have given the Rebels a 1 point start for this Match – with an an offer of up to $200 in Bonus bets. Statistically the Rebels enjoy their visits to Perth so they should win this one. The Rebels should edge this by two.

This Match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 2/HD.
