Eight test All Black Jono Gibbes is heading to Welsh club Neath-Swansea Ospreys.

Gibbes has signed a three year contract that will see him playing with the 2004-05 Celtic Cup champions until at least the end of the 2008-09 season.

Gibbes, who is contracted to the NZRU until the end of the year, has requested an early release.

Ospreys had a forgettable injury-weakened 2005/06 season finishing seventh on the Celtic League table.

Gibbes is currently leading the New Zealand Maori in their Churchill Cup campaign as they prepare to take on Scotland in the final this weekend.

Former All Black Justin Marshall has also joined the Welsh club at it looks to bolster its roster ahead of the upcoming season.
