Western Force captain Matt Hodgson says that his team were not tough enough in their 20-42 Super Rugby loss to the Bulls.

The Force were outscored by five tries to two in the match with the Force’s second try coming at the death when the match had already been won by the Bulls.

The Bulls were in control for most of the match and led 13-18 at half time but in the final quarter they managed to pull away from their hosts in Perth.

Matt Hodgson said his side were competitive for large parts of the match but said that when the Bulls get going they are difficult to contain.

“We were in it for a lot of the game, but weren’t tough enough,” he said.

“They got some momentum, got back-to-back tries and they are hard to stop.”

The Force play the Sunwolves in Tokyo next week.
