Former Reds Super Rugby winning winger Digby Ioane has been linked with a move to the Crusaders as a replacement for Nemani Nadolo.

Former Wallabies winger Ioane played the last of his 35 Wallabies Tests against the British and Irish Lions in 2013.

Reports in New Zealand suggest that Ioane has been tempted back into Super Rugby by new coach Scott Robertson.

The thirty-one-year-old played for the Reds between 2008 and 2013 during which he earned 66 caps for the Queensland side.

Ioane was part of the 2011 Reds side that beat the Crusaders in the final and he scored a try in that match.

The Wellington born winger has been troubled by knee injuries throughout his career and is nearing the end of his careerbut the Crusaders need replacements for Nadolo and Johnny McNicholl.

Ioane left the Reds in 2013 and played for Stade Francais for two seasons and then moved to to Japan to play for Honda Heat.
