Durban based Super Rugby franchise the Shark look set to me without Springbok flyhalf Patrick Lambie and fullback Willie le Roux for this week’s match against the Cheetahs.

The Sharks face two must win matches if they are to remain in contention for the play offs and a loss could see the Bulls overtake them in the standings.

The Bulls and the Sharks are separated by three points and whoever wins both of their matches will be in the play offs. If both teams win then the Sharks will remain in front of the Bulls and they will qualify.

Lambie was injured in the first Springboks test against Ireland and missed the rest of the series and last week’s loss to the Lions in Johannesburg.

The flyhalf has still not fully recovered from the concussion injury enough to satisfy the return to playing protocols and will sit out for another week.

In a further blow for the Sharks fullback Willie le Roux who was suspended for last week’s match will also not be able to return this week due to shoulder joint injury sustained in the third Test against Ireland.
