Johannesburg’s Lions Super rugby team have suffered a blow as Springbok flanker Jaco Kriel needs to undergo surgery again.
Kriel has been injured since September last year and although he had surgery he needs to undergo surgery again.
The Lions have issued a statement saying that, “due to unforeseen circumstances the operation that Jaco Kriel underwent on his shoulder was unsuccessful and needs to be repeated on Thursday 8 March 2018.”
The Springbok flanker injured his shoulder in the Springboks’ Rugby Championship draw against Australia last year.
The Lions are expecting Kriel to be side-lined for a further six months which rules him out off Super Rugby for 2018.
