South Africa’s Lions have welcomed their Super rugby bye this weekend as they sustained a number of injuries in their match against the Sharks in Durban.

The Lions have a bye this weekend and return to Super rugby next weekend with a match against the Bulls at home in Ellis Park.

A Lions medical report says that they expect all but one of their injured players to be fit for next week’s match.

Flyhalf Elton Jantjies has a rib injury while Dylan Smith has a grade 1 calf strain.

Sylvian Mahuza – grade 1 adductor strain in his hip and Marvin Orie is suffering the effects of concussion.

Len Massyn has a grade II ankle injury and is the onlyt player on the Lions medical report who is not expected to be fit to face the Bulls.

The Lions lead the South African Super rugby conference but they could lose that placing to the Jaguares if they beat the Bulls in Pretoria on Saturday.
