Lopeti and Lucas issued warnings after Super Rugby match

Rebels loose forward Lopeti Timani and Brumbies half back Matt Lucas have both been issued Super Rugby warnings by tournament administrators Sanzaar.

Timani has been issued with a Warning for contravening Law 9.13 – A player must not tackle an opponent dangerously / above the line of the shoulders during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

The incident occurred in the 14th minute of the match between the Rebels and Brumbies played at AAMI Park in Melbourne on 9 March 2018.

Lucas has been issued with a Warning for contravening Law 9.12 – A player must not strike with the hand during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

The incident occurred in the 62nd minute of the match between the Rebels and Brumbies played at AAMI Park, Melbourne on 9 March 2018.

A Warning may be issued by the SANZAAR Citing Commissioner for foul play incidents that are very close to, but in his opinion do not meet the Red Card threshold for citings. Upon further review of the match footage the Citing Commissioner deemed a Warning was appropriate.
