All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen has called Blues mdifielder George Moala into his squad preparting to play Wales as injury cover for Charlie Ngatai.

Chiefs mid-fielder Ngatai suffered an incident of concussion against the Highlanders (May 7) earlier this month and even though he missed matches against the Rebels and Waratahs he has not yet fully recovered.

The All Blacks first Test match in 2016 is in Auckland on June 11 against Wales and with Ngatai in doubt it is likely that Ryan Crotty will start in place of Ma’a Nonu who has moved to France.

Moala and Ngatai both made their All Black test debuts last year in the match against Samoa.

“Charlie has still got symptoms so we made a decision after he came in on Sunday to send him home,” All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster told Stuff.

“We feel that’s the best place to chill out for the next three or four days. We’re reviewing that on a daily basis.

“It’s one of those things you’ve got to give people time and space and when it comes right it comes right. ”

“We don’t know a definite time table to recover properly so it’s probably best to get out of the busy-ness of here and be at home.”

Moala will remain with the All Blacks until Ngatai recovers.
