Saracens coach Andy Farrell will stay with the North London Club for the foreseeable future after he rejected an offer to join England coach Stuart Lancaster.

Farrell says that he will not be accepting any other position in rugby union and wants to finish his term with Saracens.

Farrell was seconded to be part of Stuart Lancaster's coaching team for the Six Nations and played an important role in England's second placed finish, which included a historic three victories away from home.

"It has been a special privilege for me to be involved in the Saracens coaching staff for the past two-and-half seasons.

"We have made decent progress during this period but, in truth, as a club, we have barely scratched the surface of our potential."

"The job isn't anywhere near half done, and I have decided I want to help finish the job."

Following the 36-year-old's decision to stay with Saracens, RFU CEO Ian Ritchie said: "While Andy was clearly an important part of the coaching team during the course of the RBS 6 Nations, we fully respect his wishes to continue as a coach at Saracens.

"We will continue to work hard with Stuart Lancaster to build a world class coaching team as we look towards the Rugby World Cup in 2015."

England are said to be eyeing up former New Zealand and Northampton Saints coach Wayne Smith for the role of backs coach.

Another name that has been linked to the England backline coaching position is that of former England coach Brian Ashton who is one of the most respected attacking coaches in England.
