Heineken Cup champions Leinster have lost Luke Fitzgerald for their Heineken Cup final clash against fellow Irish side Ulster after the winger injured his neck.
Leinster coach Joe Schmidt has confirmed that Fitzgerald will miss the match.
"To lose a player like Luke at a critical moment of the season is a big blow," said Schmidt, who added that the 24-year-old Ireland international would undergo surgery in the coming weeks.
The final will take place in Twickenham on May 19.
Leinster have also qualifed for the Celtic League semi-finals.
