The Chiefs need to win this match.

If they want to stay in the hunt for a consecutive play off place this year they need to perform against the Stormers who were very impressive against the Blues last weekend.

Match detail

We are waiting for the kick off.

1.00: Stephen Donald kicks off and we are underway.

2.00: The Chiefs win the first line out of the match but the Stormers turn it over. They move forward but knock on so we have a scrum.

4.00: The Stormers work the ball into the Chiefs 25 and they look dangerous but the defence pushes Fourie into touch.

8.00: Gio Aplon makes a break and passes to Sireli Naqelevuki who comes close but gets brought down and he loses the ball in the ball on the tryline.

10.00: The Chiefs give away a penalty so Peter Grant takes the first kick and posts. He nails it. His kicking percentage is now at 93 per cent !

13.00: Sione Lauaki gives away a penalty in front of the posts so Grant gets another shot. He misses ! That's his second miss of the season.

17.00: The Stormers give away a penalty this time so Stephen Donald takes the kick and he nails it levelling the scores.

19.00: The Stormers send the ball wide for Schalk Burger who is on the wing but there is a tackler being blocked so the try does not stand. Instead the Stormers get a penalty.

20.00: Grant bangs over the penalty to put the Stormers into the lead.

22.00: The Chiefs get the Stormers on the backfoot in their 25. Jaque Fourie gets the ball however and he breaks, the Stormers then swing the ball almost through the whole team and then outwide for Habana who is wide open in the corner and all he has to do is take two steps forward and scores the first try. Excellent team try.

24.00: Grant adds the conversion.

25.00: The Chiefs send a pointless kick downfield - straight to Gio Aplon who darts off in the counter attack and passes to Duane
Vermeulen who scores the try.

28.00: Peter Grant adds the conversion off the posts. Stormers are looking hot.

32.00: The Chiefs are gaining momentum. The possession stat is up to 52 per cent for the Chiefs. The Stormers seem happy to let the Chiefs have the ball though as they trust their defence.

34.00: The Stormers get the maul rolling but they give away a penalty and the Chiefs attack. The Chiefs get into the 25 and Sweeney goes for the ball after a chip kick but he loses the ball in the goal area.

37.00: The Chiefs go on attack. They get the ball into the Stormers half and start to pick away at the defence.

38.00: Bekker is having a great game. He has already made 11 tackles.

39.00: The Chiefs scrum goes backwards 10m out from the Stormers tryline but Sione Lauaki darts off the back of the scrum and passes to Tanerau Latimer who scores under the posts.

40.00: Stephen Donald adds the conversion to give the Chiefs hope. It's half time.

The half time score was Chiefs 10 Stormers 20

The second half is underway.

42.00: The Chiefs get ahead after a Leonard break but then Vermeulen puts in huge tackle on Masaga and wipes out the move.

43.00: The Stormers spot that Masaga is struggling after that big tackle so they swing the ball wide and Habana sucks in two defenders and he passes to Tiaan Liebenberg who scores !

44.00: Peter Grant adds the conversion.

48.00: The Chiefs (Ben Afeaki) give away a penalty so the Stormers kick for touch as they are looking for the bonus point now.
