Chiefs centre Richard Kahui will continue his rehabilitation and is likely to be out of rugby for a further three weeks.

Kahui was seen by All Blacks Doctor Deb Robinson yesterday where it was confirmed that he had suffered a cartilage tear by his first rib on the left hand side of his chest - which sits under his sternoclavicular joint.

He has been rehabilitating since the injury occurred during the Chiefs v Waratahs match in Round 12 of the Super 14. Kahui is likely to return to rugby in up to three weeks.

Kahui said today: "while I'm obviously disappointed, I just need to get on with my rehabilitation.

"At the moment I can't do contact training or much upper body training, but I can still work on skills and other parts of my game during this time."

Chiefs hooker Aled de Malmanche is currently rehabilitating from a blow to his shoulder which he injured in the final Chiefs game against the Blues.

Fullback Mils Muliaina has had his cast removed and his thumb is progressing well.
