Match detail

We are waiting for the kick off. There is a late change for the Lions. Andre Pretorius is out and Elton Jantjies is in.

The match is underway.

1.00: Strong running start from the Sharks.

3.00: Penalty to the Lions. Elton Jantjies takes the kick at goal. He shaves the posts but its good.

7.00: Penalty to the Sharks. The kick hits the posts and bounces to Bismarck du Plessis who drives forward but the Lions hold the Sharks out.

11.00: Charl McLeod tries to run off the back of the scrum but he is called back for a penalty to the Lions. Possession at 54 % for the Sharks.

14.00: The Sharks get some good continuity in attack. They put together 8 phases and then Louis Ludik receives a pop pass from Stefan Terblanche and races away to score in the corner. TRY!!

16.00: Jaques Louis Potgieter takes the conversion kick but misses from the touchline.

17.00: Danger for the Lions as the Sharks kick the ball ahead and chase. The Lions just get back in time to stop the try.

21.00: Lots of aerial ping pong as both teams testing each other out at the back.

22.00: Penalty to the Sharks. It is in their half so they kick for touch.

25.00: Penalty to the Sharks. Jacques-Louis Potgieter takes the kick at the posts and misses. Thats three from three (in misses).

30.52: James Kamana is injured so he comes off and is replaced by Jaco Taute. Kamana's leg looks bad and has to be taken off on the buggy. It takes about six or seven minutes to sort him out.

32.00: The Lions make an error and the Sharks pounce. JP Pietersen makes a lot of ground and Willem Alberts comes up in support and reaches for the line and scores.

33.00: Meyer Bosman takes over the kicking and slots the conversion.

35.00: Meyer Bosman has just taken over the kicking but is now injured and has been replaced by Adi Jacobs.

40.18: The siren goes and the Sharks are on attack. J-L Potgieter kicks across field for JP Pietersen who catches the ball and races away and scores in the corner - all he had to do was a little hand off. TRY!!
