This match could have been billed as the Super Rugby champions match as the former Super Rugby champs are hosting the reigning Super Rugby champions the Reds.

Unfortunately though the Reds will be without a host of stars and have had to name rookie fly half Dallan Murphy to make his Super Rugby starting debut in this match. What a baptism of fire that will be.

The Bulls and Reds have played each other 14 times and surprisingly the Bulls have only won 5 times. One of those wins was in 2007 when the Bulls smashed the Reds 92-3 which you would expect would make the score averages slant heavily towards the Bulls.

However the Bulls record is not that good and the average score between the teams when they play each other is Bulls 25 Reds 24. The 2007 result does impact on the average scores for matches played between the teams at Loftus as the average score is Bulls 37 Reds 16.

That 2007 result is now so distant as only two players from the Bulls who started against the Reds on that day, have been chosen for Saturday’s match. They are Pierre Spies and Wynand Olivier, while Morne Steyn was on the bench back in 2007.

Reds and Wallaby captain James Horwill is the only "survivor" from the Reds team of 2007.

The Bulls and the Reds have played each other six times at Loftus and the Bulls have won four out of the six. The four that the Bulls have won have been the last four which means that the Reds have not won in Pretoria since 2001.

Both teams will be coming into the match looking for an improvement as they both lost their last match. The Reds lost to the Sharks and the Bulls lost to the Blues.

The Bookies have given the  Reds 8 point start for this match - with an offer of Bet 5 and Get 50 in Bets. Injuries will weigh too heavily on the Reds this weekend so the Bulls should win this one comfortably. The Bulls should win by 15 or more.

This match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on the Sky Sports website.
