The Rebels and the Blues have only played each other once in Super Rugby and on that occasion the Blues won handsomely at 40-23 in North Harbour.

The Blues outscored the Rebels by six tries to two in that match which is about in line with how the Rebels fair against New Zealand teams.

On average the Rebels are outscored by two tries to five against New Zealand Super Rugby teams.

Even with that statistic, trying to predict the outcome of this match has to be one of the most difficult previews yet as there is one match to try and spot a trend and we just don't know which teams will start the match.

We are not talking about the team lists but the team attitude. If the Blues arrive in Melbourne with the attitude they showed in their only win from five games against the Bulls they will no doubt win the match.

If the Rebels start the match with the attitude they showed against the Reds a couple of weeks ago then they are more than likely to win. If both teams arrive with the right attitude the Blues might just edge as they have more talent and are more familiar.

The Rebels have started playing more like a team and in their last match with Danny Cipriani at ten they showed some exceptional form. Cipriani however went off and they started falling apart.

The Rebels have named all their stars for this match so they won't be short of talent. However the Blues camp had a surprise standing down this week as the two Saili brothers were stood down for two weeks.

Controversy in a squad can often bring the team together and make them a tighter unit. The Blues had the last round off with the bye so they will need to arrive and gel quickly or the Rebels will run away with this as they did in their last match early on.

The Bookies have given the Rebels a 9 point start for this match - with an offer of Bet 5 and Get 50 in Bets. We think the Blues will sneak this one and earn their second victory. The Blues should win by 2 points.

This match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on the Sky Sports website.
