Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske has revealed that he will start Sias Ebersohn at flyhalf against the Chiefs this weekend regardless of whether Johan Goosen recovers from a shoulder injury or not.
Drotske told Volksblad that the Cheetahs have already decided to start the match Ebersohn at 10 against the Chiefs.
Ebersohn was one of the Cheetahs stars last season but has dropped behind Goosen this season.
Ebersohn came on as replacement for Goosen against the Lions for Goosen last weekend and played for almost 40 minutes.
The flyhalf has been on the bench for all of the Cheetahs Super Rugby matches this season but has only managed to clock up 80 minutes in seven matches.
Coach Drotske said that the Cheetahs will decide on Friday whether or not Goosen will be named on the bench.
Drotske added that Springbok loosie Ashley Johnson will drop to the bench after a poor game against the Lions so he will be used as an impact player.
