Springboks and Cheetahs No.8 Ashley Johnson will join English Premiership Rugby Club London Wasps after the Super Rugby season.
The news of Johnson joining London Wasps comes a day after the Rugby club issued a press release urgently calling for investors to save the club from going into administration.
Ashley Johnson began his career as a hooker but a move to the back row in recent seasons has seen him excel at both Super and Provincial level with his performances earning him a first call up for the Springboks in 2009.
He won three caps in the 2011 Tri-Nations series and was considered unlucky not to be included in the highly competitive back-row mix for South Africa at the World Cup.
Johnson has been named on the bench this weekend against the Chiefs and will be used as an impact player.
