The Brumbies have released Jono Owen from his contract effective immediately which will allow him to joing the Melbourne Rebels on a short term deal.

The Brumbies have six props, so 25 year old Owen would have struggeld for game time in 2012.

Circumstances have worked out well for both Owen and the Rebels, who had been looking for a prop after several injuries in that position.
