Melbourne Rebels captain Gareth Delve admitted that his team did not turn up for their match against the Brumbies in Canberra.
The Rebels had hoped to follow up their victory over the Blues with another win but they were hammered 37-6 by the Brumbies instead.
"We just weren't at the races - the first 30 minutes especially we just didn't get off the line," said Delve who was yellow carded in the 31st minute for repeated infringements at the breakdown.
While Delve was in the sin-bin the Brumbies scored their fourth try for the bonus point and by half time the Brumbies were leading 30-6.
The Rebels struggled again with their defence and Delve admitted that they were frustrated by the Brumbies who stopped the Rebels from implementing their game plan.
"We didn't make our tackles, which we had talked about all week, and the Brumbies just kept coming at us." said Delve.
"No excuses, tonight we just didn't come out and implement what we'd put in place."
The Brumbies bounced back from their 20-13 loss to the Reds last week in Brisbane and captain Ben Mowen said that he was much happier with the team performance this week.
"We weren't happy the way we played last week," Mowen said.
"The training during the week was good and obviously the first 40 minutes tonight laid the platform."
