The lower back injury which ended Andries Bekker's game against the Crusaders in Christchurch has already ruled him out of this weekend's match against the Reds in Brisbane
While the Stormers have already ruled him out of this week's match the injury is not expected to keep him out for too long.
Stormers coach Allister Coetzee says they will monitor Bekker closely but says that Eben Etzebeth who left the field with an AC shoulder complaint not long after Bekker could be cleared to play against the Reds.
"Eben’s injury is not as bad as initially we may have thought," Coetzee told Sport 24.
"With Andries we are going to have to look at the situation and assess it during the week, but at this stage there is no thought of him going home," added Coetzee.
Even though there seems to be no panic in the Stormers camp over their second row they have called in Western Province lock Quinn Roux.
The Stormers have also revealed that both Gio Aplon (hip) and Nick Koster (head) are over the injuries that kept them from facing the Crusaders and could play this weekend.
