Hurricanes captain Conrad Smith was forced to admit that they just didn't have enough to to contain the Crusaders in their 42-14 loss.
The Crusaders dominated the match and in the 36th minute they secured their first four try bonus point of the season.
After leading the Hurricanes 0-32 the Crusaders lost a bit of shape and the Hurricanes scored a try either side of half time.
"They're a quality side and we said from the start we were going to have to battle hard," Hurricanes captain Conrad Smith said.
"We worked really hard and played with a lot of heart, but it's sometimes not enough against sides like this."
The Crusaders showed their best vein of form of the season and worryingly for opposition teams Crusaders Captain Kieran Read spoke after the match about how fun they had playing they way they did.
"It's great fun playing footy when the boys start like that," said Read in a post match interview.
"It was a really tough game to be honest but when you start that well it's hard to contain us," said captain Kieran Read.
"We thought if we could put some pressure on them down in their end of the field hopefully we would get opportunities to turn over and then attack and it kinda worked out that way in the first half."
