Current Super Rugby leaders the Chiefs have not beaten the Hurricanes since the 2009 Super 14 Semi-final when they won 14-10.

The last time the Chiefs and the Hurricanes met was back in June last year and the teams drew 18 all in Hamilton. The two matches prior to the draw were both won by the Hurricanes.

Overall the Chiefs and the Hurricane have played each other 18 times and the Chiefs have won 7 of those matches and lost 10 and drawn the once. That's a 38.9% win record.

On average when the Chiefs play the Hurricanes they score 23 points and the Hurricanes score 24 points.

When the Chiefs are at home in Hamilton (and once in Rotorua 1996) when they play each other the average score is Chiefs 22 and the Hurricanes 19.

The Chiefs have played nine matches at home against the Hurricanes and have won four times, lost four times and draw once making it perfectly even.

Due to the draw the Chiefs win record at home to the Hurricanes is 44.4%.

The Chiefs have brought in Brendon Leonard for this match along with Tanerau Latimer and Tim Nanai Williams. The Chiefs flew back to New Zealand from South Africa and the general feeling is that travelling from West to East is the worst so they will feel the travel later in the match.

The Hurricanes meanwhile have made three changes as Cory Jane, TJ Perenara and Julian Savea are all back in the starting line up. The Hurricanes will go into the match recovering from a sound thumping by the Crusaders.

The Bookies have given the Hurricanes an 8 point start for this match - with an offer of Bet 5 and Get 50 in Bets. We were impressed with the Chiefs form on tour but they have to handle the travel. The Chiefs should hang on to win this by four.

This match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on the Sky Sports 1/HD channel.

Average score: 23-24
