The Blues have announced that they have re-signed three of their stars in Charlie Faumuina, Luke Braid and Tom McCartney on two year deals.

All three players have signed two-year deals with the Auckland Super Rugby franchise e for the next two seasons.

Prop Charlie Faumuina said he is fully committed to the Blues and is determined to play his role in the team's revival for 2013 and 2014.

"I enjoy being part of the Blues, I am proud to wear the jersey and am determined more than ever to do what I can to help get this team get back to where it should be," he said.

The sentiment is echoed by team-mates Braid and McCartney.

"There is no doubt we're doing it tough this year, but the Blues environment is a good one and I want to keep on being a part of it. Playing alongside my brother (Daniel) means a lot to me and I very much want to be a part of this franchise for the future," said Luke Braid.

"I have been fortunate to be in the Blues, developing my game alongside men like Keven Mealamu and Tony Woodock. I believe in this team and look forward to being part of this franchise for another two years," said McCartney.

What these players bring to the Blues and on and off the field is extremely valuable said Blues coach Pat Lam.

"These players are important to our group. They work hard, train hard and have high standards on and off the pitch. They have handled the added responsibility placed on each of them this season due to injured senior players, with grit and maturity."

Luke Braid is currently captaining the Blues in the absence of injured skipper, Keven Mealamu.
