The Blues and New Zealand Rugby Union have lost patience with coach Pat Lam as they will advertise his position later this week.
The Blues are placed last in Super Rugby having won just one match so far but the NZRU have agreed to advertise his position in the next 24 hours according to 3News and LIVESport.
According to reports Lam was offered a new contract but as he has yet to sign it the NZRU have to look to the future and will advertise his position.
Speaking on RadioLive this morning Steven McIvor revealed while in an interview with Junior Tonu'u that the Blues will make an announcement today.
It is not clear yet whether the Blues have sacked coach Pat Lam and whether he will stay on until the end of the season but it is likely that once his position is advertised he will have to re-apply.
The Blues play the Lions this weekend and they are in a similar position to the Blues although they are ahead of the Aucklanders.
The Lions on 14 points have scored more points from their two byes than they have in nine matches.
The Blues have scored 12 points from a bye, one win and four bonus points.
