Brumbies flanker and man of the match Michael Hooper has been cited for an "alleged" dangerous tackle on Victor Vito in the Brumbies 25-37 victory over the Hurricanes.
Hooper allegedly contravened Law 10.4 (j) Lifting a Player from the ground and either dropping or driving that Player’s head and/or upper body into the ground whilst the Player’s feet are off the ground.
The incident in question was when Hooper lifted Hurricanes player Victor Vito in a tackle and brought him down so his upper body hit the ground while his legs were still in the air in the 48th Minute of the match between the Hurricanes and Brumbies.
Referee for the Match: Mark Lawrence penalised Hooper on the field for the incident but SANZAR say that Upon further review of the match footage the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the Red Card threshold for foul play.
The Citing is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Mike Heron.
