The Chiefs won the last clash between them and the Crusaders but the men from Christchurch won all four matches before that.

The Chiefs have already booked a place in the Super Rugby play off and cannot be overtaken by any of the New Zealand teams so they have won the New Zealand conference.

The Crusaders on the other hand are playing for their survival in this season's Super Rugby tournament.

The Crusaders have played the Chiefs 18 times and the Chiefs have won just five times. There have been no draws between the teams so the Chiefs have only won 28 % of their matches against the Crusaders.

On average when the Chiefs play the Crusaders they score 20 points and the Crusaders score 29 points.

This week's match will be played in Hamilton where the teams have played each other seven times. In seven matches between the teams the Chiefs have won just twice.

Their winning percentage is just marginally better at home as they have won 29% of their home matches against the Crusaders.

The Chiefs have been able to name a near full strength team for this week's clash including top try scorer Sona Taumalolo.

The Crusaders have also been able to a name a near full strength team and have been boosted by the All Black trio of Dan Carter, Kieran Read and Israel Dagg.

Last week's Crusaders was most unlike their usual game and they will have had a tough week in preparation for this much anticipated match as the pressure is really on now. Their closest rivals the Hurricanes have a bye and are guaranteed four points.

The Chiefs on the other hand cruised last week against the Highlanders and showed no signs of a dip in form due to the June break.

The Bookies have given the Crusaders a 2 point start for this match - with an offer of Bet 5 and Get 50 in Bets. The Crusaders have a strong record against the Chiefs but they key factor this weekend is that they will be hungrier and more desperate than the Chiefs. We are going against the bookies. The Crusaders should sneak it by 2.

This match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 4/ HD.
